Chelsea Whyte to Champion Hope Over Division

We're delighted to announce that Chelsea Whyte has been selected as the Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate for Runnymede and Weybridge – and she's ready to lead a winning campaign to take this seat at Westminster.

As a local resident who grew up in the area, Chelsea knows this community intimately. Her deep roots here, combined with over a decade of Liberal Democrat activism and experience, make her uniquely positioned to build the broad support needed to win this seat at the next General Election.

Chelsea brings impressive credentials to the role. She has worked alongside elected Liberal Democrat leaders from the local to international level, including with our Lib Dem group at Surrey County Council, the elected Mayor of Watford, and the leader of our group in the European Parliament. Currently she works with national and international businesses, advising them on how to engage with policy making and the media - with experience of businesses in healthcare, energy, manufacturing, transport, legal and financial services.

Her vision for the constituency is both ambitious and inspiring: modernising public services, seizing opportunities in the green economy, and fixing our broken political system. In these uncertain times, with divisive politics on the rise, Chelsea offers something different – a hopeful, positive vision of the future grounded firmly in liberal values.
