It’s Great Big Green Week!

Runnymede Lib Dems are pleased to see the return of Great Big Green Week. This was an initiative spearheaded by Councillor Sylvia Whyte in 2022, and is an important annual celebration of community engagement in nature and biodiversity projects.

We’re fortunate to live in an area with such rich nature and biodiversity and it’s vital that we all contribute to safeguarding it for future generations. The Liberal Democrats have long championed investment in green spaces and access to nature as part of our wider commitment to environmental recovery and the positive impacts it can have on mental health.

There are lots of events taking place from now until 14th June across Runnymede, so there should be something for everyone!

Speaking about the celebration, Cllr Sylvia Whyte, said “I’m delighted that Runnymede is participating in Great Big Green Week again this year. There’s so many fantastic events taking place across the borough which are a great way for people to get more involved in their communities and protect our local environment. I’d encourage everyone to think about how they can make a positive contribution to this week of activities.”
